More about Lauburu Languages
¡Hola! my name is Isabel, I am a native Spanish, UK qualified teacher (PGCE in England/DBS checked).
I was born and grew up in the north of Spain, Bilbao and came to live in the UK permanently in 2001.
I completed a BA Hons Business in 2015 and a Master in Hispanic Studies in 2017, which has developed my knowledge and understanding of the history, economy, and politics of the Spanish speaking world.
I have been working as a Spanish teacher in the Otley community at Prince Henry´s Grammar School since 2002 and at Westgate Primary School since 2014. I've also worked in various secondary schools in the UK since 2007.
I've helped many students to prepare for their GCSE and A level exams and they have achieved excellent results. I'm very well known in my community and I love to get people interested and engaged in the Spanish language and diverse culture personalizing their interests.
I am also passionate about nature, the environment, and the arts. With a local art teacher, Sandra Flitcroft, we created Artespaña. We have done some very interesting and successful workshops for adults and children in Otley and the surrounding areas. Now we are getting ready to create new ventures online to contribute to your cultural knowledge and interest through the Spanish language.
Lauburu is the name given to the ancient Basque Cross with 4 comma-shaped heads. I set up Lauburu Languages in 2012 to teach Spanish to everyone.
I am looking forward to meeting you.
Hasta pronto,
Isabel :-)
